Barry McIntosh Bequest Sub-committee nomination

The Barry McIntosh bequest is a very generous donation for U3APP to conduct a perpetual annual photography and art competition.

The U3APP Committee of Management is seeking volunteers to form a sub-committee to oversee and manage the implementation and operation of the bequest.

The subcommittee will be responsible to the Executive and comprise 7 people –

A Chair, a Photographer, an Artist, the U3APP Treasurer and 3 other members.

Collectively the subcommittee will have the following skill set:

(This means that individually each volunteer member of the subcommittee would possess one or more of the skill set requirements.)

  • Photographic skills
  • Painting or other artistic skills
  • Financial management (the Treasurer for U3APP will be part of this committee)
  • Marketing and Event management
  • Risk management
  • Project management
  • Stakeholder engagement

Above all the volunteers must be committed to achieving at least two annual first class and notable exhibitions from which awards for the most outstanding work in each category will be selected, honouring Barry Macintosh and consistent with the objectives and values of U3APP and the Barry McIntosh bequest.

Individually all volunteers will also have:

  • Sufficient IT skills to work independently in a digital environment
  • Appropriate time to meet the work requirements and agreed timelines of the sub committee

U3APP members interested in being part of this subcommittee should provide the U3A Executive with a summary of their experience and skills (no more than 200 words) and may be interviewed by a representative of the Executive of U3APP. A form in which you can provide these details is available below and should be submitted on-line by the 11th September 2026. The work of the sub-committee will commence by the end of October 2026.

We look forward to receiving your nomination.
