TUTORS: Twenty-six years ago, Carolyn needed something to recover from ‘baby brain’. She had been raising her four sons – all under twenty-one months of age, including a set of identical triplets. She came across Helen’s Memory Skills course and enrolled. Despite being a very busy full-time mum, the course fitted Carolyn like a glove. From that time to this, Carolyn and Helen remain close friends and have continued to have fun with memory skills often sending each other random texts such as, “What film won the Oscar in 1935?” Carolyn moved to London in 2019 for a new adventure. Her timing wasn’t great as Covid struck. Carolyn used this time to her advantage by teaching memory skills via Zoom with friends she had made.
Carolyn is also a published author of two books about her experiences raising her triplets: “ADHD to the Power of Three – A Mother’s Story of Raising Triplets” and the sequel “The Teenage Years”.
35 years ago, Helen was introduced to memory skills. She studied the techniques and found them life-changing. She began teaching family and friends before going on to teach at primary and secondary schools. She created a course and offered it to various TAFEs, Colleges and Holmesglen and for a decade she taught regularly including community houses, private business and even Barwon Prison. Meeting Carolyn was the beginning of a lifelong friendship. They share a passion for memory, knowledge and helping others.
