Students need some prior knowledge of Spanish. The Spanish taught will be International Spanish capable of being used anywhere. The course will include the basics of grammar and the application of Spanish to reading and writing, speaking and listening. The focus of the course is not on passing an exam but on enjoying oneself while learning Spanish with a group of like-minded people.
REQUIREMENTS: Some prior experience in Spanish is necessary.
Textbooks are “Easy Spanish Step-by-Step” and “Advanced Spanish Step-By-Step”, both by Barbara Bregstein There is a combined book “Complete…” which is the above two in one book which is a tad cheaper. The textbooks are used regularly over the course, so it is necessary to acquire them. As a guideline, the price is generally somewhere between $18 and $25 and the combined one about $40. Each class is usually given some homework but not an onerous amount. Most people have fun over the year and even do the homework.
TUTOR: Greg started learning Spanish because of his love of tango dancing but he’s been tutoring Spanish for 5 years now and is slowly getting the hang of it.
