Other information

Continue to learn the basics of Japanese to make your journey to Japan more enjoyable. We will explore all types of FREE learning materials and use them to our advantage. Our main focus is on communicating (speaking and listening).  We will be using COMPREHENSIBLE INPUT as a means of acquiring Japanese the natural way.

This third year will incorporate more information on Japan, places to visit, stay, explore and what to buy.

REQUIREMENTS: This course is available to members who attended in 2022.  Other enrolments may be accepted; if you have some beginners Japanese language skills please call Helen on 0438 984-868 to discuss joining the class. The class is using the language book JAPANESE FOR BUSY PEOPLE Book 1 – 3rd revised edition and THE USBORNE FIRST THOUSAND WORDS IN JAPANESE..

TUTOR: Helen has been studying Japanese (on and off) for 30 years. She is passionate about Japan and has been to Japan on ten occasions. She studied Japanese for two years at University and several terms at the Japan Seminar House.   Helen brings an understanding of the problems faced by foreigners learning Japanese and uses creativity, imagery and memory skills to help participants to learn quickly and retain what they are learning. Her time spent in Japan has helped to identify the areas where “travel Japanese” will benefit and enhance any journey to Japan.

Paper Enrolment Form: before bookings open for First Semester

  • Obtain a paper Enrolment Form either from the Office or by printing an online copy available here.

The start date for acceptance of paper Enrolment Forms for first semester is published on the U3APP website and in the e-Bulletin. Enrolment Forms received before this date are treated as though they had been received on the start date (ie there is no advantage to be gained by submitting early). On the start date and thereafter, paper Enrolment Forms are numbered in order of receipt.  Paper Enrolment forms are processed by U3APP volunteers on the same day as on-line bookings.
