This course is about starting out and exploring ChatGPT for practical, fun and creative use in your everyday life – understanding what it is and what it isn’t…

I am looking to do this via a collaborative journey based around curiosity – whereby we all explore and learn ways in which we can approach challenges, ideas and aspirations and how we can safely harness ChatGPT to make it happen – from planning a holiday, creating a memoir, writing poetry, managing a house project, identifying potential recipes, learning new skills, practicing a foreign language or understanding history – the opportunities are endless – if we can make understanding the technology less intimidating and more fun.

  1. Cover of some basic AI understanding, how to interact with ChatGPT, the use of prompts/questions, voice vs written input, setting up an account, free vs paid version etc.
  2. We’ll start to identify and explore different use cases and opportunities based on participants’ interests, plans, ideas or needs. In doing so, we’ll also start to learn some of the other features of ChatGPT.
  3. Exploring use cases in more detail and collaboratively identifying steps and practical ways in which we can all learn how to use AI’s amazing capabilities to achieve those outcomes for our benefit and pure enjoyment, whilst understanding its limitations and social issues.
  4. Identify the next steps in the course participants’ journey and use of ChatGPT. Are there other opportunities, ideas etc.?

REQUIREMENTS: Optional – Windows or Mac laptop or a smart phone

TUTOR: Warwick has retired from paid work. He was a Data and Business Analyst – Health, Finance, International Aid

Paper Enrolment Form: before bookings open for First Semester

  • Obtain a paper Enrolment Form either from the Office or by printing an online copy available here.

The start date for acceptance of paper Enrolment Forms for first semester is published on the U3APP website and in the e-Bulletin. Enrolment Forms received before this date are treated as though they had been received on the start date (ie there is no advantage to be gained by submitting early). On the start date and thereafter, paper Enrolment Forms are numbered in order of receipt.  Paper Enrolment forms are processed by U3APP volunteers on the same day as on-line bookings.

If your enrolment is successful, you will receive a confirmation email.  Please check your Junk/Spam folders as these automatically-generated emails often finish up there.

If your enrolment is unsuccessful,  you will receive an email telling you that you have been waitlisted.
