A class to practise self-observation, self-appreciation and artistic expression.
A chance to show who you are through imagery.
Participants will be looking at a mirror to draw their face and combine their drawing with photography of flowers/object into a collage. A photograph of oneself can also be used as a base to copy and manipulate.
One can have many versions of self-portrait – a fun method to create multiple versions of oneself.
REQUIREMENTS: No experience required. A printed photo of yourself and images of your favourite objects. A3 drawing pad, pencils, eraser, mirror (a small one which can set on table), scissors, glue.
TUTOR: Yan is a multidisciplinary designer and artist based in St Kilda. Yan’s work is informed by her observation of nature and of daily life. With the skill she acquired from a decades-long career in automotive design, Yan creates painting and sculptures with functionality. She explores the intersection of art and design through her work.
