Class time: 9:30-11:00
Students will learn and practise the brain-teasing fun of solving cryptic crosswords: the basic forms of cryptic clues, the tricks used by the compilers. Then there will be opportunities to solve puzzles together in class and to practise at home.
REQUIREMENTS: Note paper, pen/pencil; preferably printer at home.
Must be able to come to first three classes.
NOTE: For terms 2, 3 and 4, students may join one of the two “Cryptic Crosswords for Fun” courses. If both are full, a new course “Cryptic Crosswords for Post-Beginners” will be introduced for those who wish to continue.
TUTOR: Colin is a retired engineer with a love of words and language.
He completes David Astle’s Friday Age puzzle every week.
