Other information

NOTE: This course does not provide medical advice.  It is intended to provide information, education and general interest.  It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

We should be living in a time of unprecedented good health. Instead, we have switched from the infections of the 19th century to our current, mostly non-infectious, chronic, disabling diseases. In addition, we are overshooting the boundaries that protect our precious planet. Let’s investigate what constitutes personal and planetary good health, re-engage with nature, and regenerate what we have lost. Expect me to challenge current dogma and expose myths.

NOTE: The Tuesday talk each week in course 2H01 is live but is repeated the following Friday as 5H03.   The talks are conducted on Zoom. Log in after 9.00.  Tutor will go live about 9.15 for a chat before we start at 9.30. There will be plenty of time for questions after the talk.

Detailed timetable will be emailed to enrolled members.

Enrol here or at 5H03, then you can attend either the Tuesday or the Friday session. Having enrolled, you will receive detailed information about each module in the Course and the latest Timetable. If you wish to unsubscribe to course information, please inform the tutor and he will remove you from his database. No need to apologise for non-attendance. Come and go as you wish.

REQUIREMENTS: No prior knowledge is required, but do bring an open, enquiring mind and a sense of humour.

TUTOR John says: “In 2013, two years into retirement after 50 years in medical practice, I discovered many missing links in my understanding of nutritional and planetary health, including how to lose weight sustainably. My personal journey of discovery continues to this day.

I commenced sharing my new knowledge through U3A with 6 talks in 2015 – now expanded to 16 modules and 34 weeks. I am continually developing and amending my work. Occasionally, circumstance may necessitate changes. Please check the latest Timetable I will email you from time to time”.

No class on 3 November

These sessions will be repeated each week in course 5H03, providing an alternative time for those who cannot attend on Tuesdays or who miss the Tuesday class

How to Enrol

On-line: after bookings have opened

On-line enrolments are preferred as this significantly reduces the amount of back-office work for our volunteers.

  • Login to the U3APP.org.au website.
  • Go to the Courses & Enrolling page.
  • Scroll down to find the course that you are interested in.
  • Does the course have spaces available?
    • Click on the course name to go to the booking page.
    • Click on “Book for this course or event”.
    • You will receive a confirmation email.  Please check your Junk/Spam folders as these automatically-generated emails often finish up there.
  • OR is the course shown as FULL?
    • Click on WAITLIST.

Paper Enrolment Form: before bookings open for First Semester

  • Obtain a paper Enrolment Form either from the Office or by printing an online copy available here.
  • Complete the paper Enrolment Form and submit it to the Office.

The start date for acceptance of paper Enrolment Forms for first semester is published on the U3APP website and in the e-Bulletin. Enrolment Forms received before this date are treated as though they had been received on the start date (ie there is no advantage to be gained by submitting early). On the start date and thereafter, paper Enrolment Forms are numbered in order of receipt.  Paper Enrolment forms are processed by U3APP volunteers on the same day as on-line bookings.

If your enrolment is successful, you will receive a confirmation email.  Please check your Junk/Spam folders as these automatically-generated emails often finish up there.

If your enrolment is unsuccessful,  you will receive an email telling you that you have been waitlisted.
