Not a French conversation class, nor a French grammar class per se, but an opportunity to improve our pronunciation and to broaden our understanding and enjoyment of French generally.
We are currently reading Michel Bussi’s top-selling crime novel Les Nymphéas Noirs and are about half way through. Translating it well is the aim, and discussion to that effect is interactive and in English. We explore aspects of the French language that English speakers find difficult and we use whatever material comes to hand in the way of short stories, songs, news items etc. And, of course, as often as we can, we practise speaking French.
NOTE: A working knowledge of French is required, but you do not have to be super proficient. An interest in literature helps.
TUTOR: Claude has a varied linguistic background, and was a French tutor over many years.
