This is not a class for total beginners. You can understand and use familiar every-day expressions and very basic phrases that will help you satisfy basic needs. You can read and understand basic sentences. You can introduce yourself to others and can ask and answer simple questions about personal details such as where you live, how to convey your name, etc., even if you make some mistakes. You understand dates, times, numbers; you know how to greet people, how to ask for places/directions, how to place orders in a restaurant or café for instance. You will be able to work in groups and prepare basic dialogues / scenarios with your fellow students and present them to your tutor. You know how to conjugate verbs in the present tense and you will be introduced to other French tenses.

TUTOR: Catherine, a French woman who has been living in Australia since 1993, is a fluent English and French speaker, and also has a very good knowledge of Spanish. In her professional career, she performed senior roles as the Executive Assistant to CEO’s/MD’s and as support to board members in companies such as l’Oréal, Amcor and Fulton Hogan.
Catherine and her husband visit France most years as her family resides there.
