This course will be an appreciation of French poetry through reading and discussion.

The contents will cover contemporary poets in France today, and will try to trace their inspiration and what changes the language has gone through. Poems will be read together, translated and discussed (hopefully in French). Anyone with an interest in poetry should find this appealing and exciting.

REQUIREMENTS: A fair knowledge of the language and the ability to read easily.

NOTE: All materials will be provided.

TUTOR: Nadine has taught French at U3A off and on for the past 12 years. She is a retired French teacher and native speaker. Since retiring from teaching Nadine has been a freelance translator working from home.
