Other information

Having investigated the Maya and Aztecs of Central Mexico/Guatemala, primitive cultures in North and South Americas, Mesopotamia and more recently the Etruscans of Italy, we continue our investigations of cultures by examining the exciting area currently known as Spain. We start in the precopper age and continue to the near present-day Spain, with considerable emphasis given to the impact of the ‘invasion’ of Iberia by North African peoples on the history and culture of Spain and Portugal. The course comprises24 lectures. A guidebook will be provided in the form of a printable, on-line PDF. As usual, 2 videos of approximately 30 minutes will be presented at each class. Time will be programmed for discussion.

TUTOR: Jim has presented a number of courses at U3APP, including the evolution of the English language, histories of ancient civilisations in North, South and Central Americas, Egyptian pharaohs , perception, vocabulary and a host of other courses.
