Stephen Paul has taken thousands of portraits professionally and will help you learn how to take better portraits through practical themed
assignments – with creative pre-planning, using different lighting sources and arrangements, recommended lenses and camera settings and posing techniques, background ideas and making your subjects comfortable. The class will meet fortnightly to view and discuss student’s work.

REQUIREMENTS: Digital camera (ideally with interchangeable lenses), ability to edit in Photoshop / Photoshop Elements / Lightroom, etc. It will be an advantage to have an Instagram account so that we can all post to the U3APP “Take your best shot” Instagram account to view student images.

TUTOR: Stephen has been commissioned for assignments, in the wedding, portrait and advertising fields over his 35 year career. Working in Australia and internationally with clients such as , QANTAS; ANZ, NAB, Australia Post; Cadbury Schweppes, GlaxoSmithKline; Adidas; Motorola and Dupont. Stephen is a previous winner of the Ballantine’s Finest International Photography Competition as well as several other industry awards. Stephen has taught photography courses at U3APP since 2015.
