This course is designed for students who have completed a beginner’s course. They will have a good understanding of how to pronounce words (vowels and consonants) and a good knowledge of the present tense of regular and irregular verbs.

Lessons presented around themes will consist of reading, vocabulary and grammar — present tense of regular, irregular and reflexive verbs, past tense (le passé-composé) and the future tense (le futur simple).

All lessons will be conducted in English with interactive French sessions/exercises for the students.

TUTOR: Catherine, a French woman who has been living in Australia since 1993, is a fluent English and French speaker, and also has a very good knowledge of Spanish. Although Catherine has no formal teaching qualifications, she did study languages at university in France. Catherine and her husband visit France most years as her family resides there.

In her professional career, Catherine performed senior roles as the Executive Assistant to CEOs/MDs and as support to board members in companies such as L’Oréal, AMCOR, Fulton Hogan.

This course runs for term 1 until 6 Apr 2022 then has a break and starts again on 24 Aug 2022.

Paper Enrolment Form: before bookings open for First Semester

  • Obtain a paper Enrolment Form either from the Office or by printing an online copy available here.
  • Complete the paper Enrolment Form and submit it to the Office.

The start date for acceptance of paper Enrolment Forms for first semester is published on the U3APP website and in the e-Bulletin. Enrolment Forms received before this date are treated as though they had been received on the start date (ie there is no advantage to be gained by submitting early). On the start date and thereafter, paper Enrolment Forms are numbered in order of receipt.  Paper Enrolment forms are processed by U3APP volunteers on the same day as on-line bookings.
