Other information

The course will cover a number of popular French singers from the 20th century onwards – singing 2-3 new songs each week.
The course will cover information about the history of the singer and background to each song, and will include a loose translation to help understand the meaning of the lyrics. There will be a focus on clear pronunciation and singing the song aloud by the class in French.
Members of the class may also be encouraged to sing songs in French at mini concerts in October and November at the U3A Seniors Week Concert or at the Bay St Music Festival.
REQUIREMENTS: Basic knowledge of French, with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to sing.
NOTE: No audition necessary. No music note reading required.
TUTOR: David is an experienced singer and performer who has sung with choirs and organised musical groups over many years.
David studied French language and literature at Grammar School to A-level standard. He has a general knowledge of French, having worked regularly in Brussels and in France over many years.

there may be a break of up to three months in the mid-winter period

Classes will be cancelled if masks are mandatory indoors
