Dr Nadia Wright discusses the metamorphosis of Raffles Hotel from a modest bungalow in 1887 to its iconic status in the 1920’s: its fate in the war years and subsequent decline, and its revival to become one of the world’s luxury hotels.
This talk is based on Dr Wright’s research and subsequent books on the Armenians, including The Armenians of Singapore: a short history.
