An overview of the history of Port Melbourne, decade by decade from the arrival of Europeans settlers in 1837 to 1960.
A series of images will be shown, with a minimum of words, to give a quick look at how the area developed and how it has been linked to the major events of Australian history.
Margaret Bride has been a resident of Port Melbourne for over 30 years. She originally studied history and has returned to it as a hobby in her retirement. Margaret is an active member of the Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation Society. With her husband, Graham, she wrote The Borough and its People, published in 2013.
