Ever wanted to capture the way light falls on that beautiful bowl of fruit, a vase of flowers or your favourite teacup? Drawing helps us to slow down and observe the simple beauty of everyday objects. This class is for all those who would like to learn (or brush up on) the basic tools of drawing (line, shape, tonal value, texture, composition) in an inclusive and supportive environment of like-minded art lovers. Suitable for all skill levels, no experience necessary.
REQUIREMENTS: Suitable for all skill levels, beginners onwards. Initial consumables/drawing materials will be provided.
TUTOR: Jan is a Melbourne artist who has worked in various mediums, including oil and acrylic painting as well as charcoal drawing, printmaking and mixed media. A great believer in transformative and life-affirming power of art, Jan also works as an art teacher, helping others to kick start their creativity. In her classes and workshops Jan encourages the participants to embrace drawing as a way of observing and appreciating the world around us as well as a powerful tool for meditation and mindfulness.
Classes fortnightly from the second Thursday of each term
