Other information

Fritting is similar to enamelling, except in this instance it is an application and heat fusion of powdered, coloured glass to a glass substrate.

First lessons will involve glass cutting techniques and selection of a project. Subsequent classes will be the completion and firing of projects. Projects will be completed over a four-week period.

NOTE: The introductory first session will be held at the Mary Kehoe Centre, but subsequent classes will be held in Lea’s Studio in Pakington Street, St Kilda (street parking available, and also easy tram connection).
No enrolments accepted after first session.

REQUIREMENTS: Safety glasses, protective footwear, sensible clothing. There may be a $10 fee per student to cover cost of “firing” kilns. Students will need to provide a glass cutter.

TUTOR: Lea is an experienced teacher and has worked with “warm” glass for many years. She operates a stall at the Esplanade Market in St Kilda.
