Other information
This class works on people’s flexibility, strength, cardio and balance. Much of the mat work is Pilates based. The exercises and pace of the class are specifically designed for people over 55 in order to keep them active, independent and pain free for as long as possible.
We work slowly and carefully through the exercises and I provide detailed instructions and demonstrations of the exercise. I also provide regular feedback. Exercises can be adapted for people with special needs
REQUIREMENTS: Students need to be able to get down onto the floor and up again. They need to be able to follow physical instructions and/or copy the tutor’s movements.
TUTOR: Lorna is a retired physiotherapist who has provided exercise classes at U3APP for about 8 years. She is particularly interested in keeping older adults moving and strong so that they can maintain their independence and lifestyle. She can modify exercises so that most people who attend the class can do the exercises she prescribes. Her aim is to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for all who attend.
Classes will be run on ZOOM on 13 July, 10 August, 14 September, 12 October, 9 November due to City of Port Phillip children’s immunisation program
