Indonesia is Australia’s largest and nearest neighbour in the Asian region and has a diverse and fascinating culture. The national language, Bahasa Indonesia, is written in the same alphabet as is used for English. It doesn’t make distinctive use of tones, and the language does not have complex agreement rules, tenses and plurals. This makes Indonesian a very accessible language for beginners.
REQUIREMENTS Students should purchase the textbook, Indonesian for Beginners, Katherine Davidsen & Yusep Cuandani..
TUTOR: Angela is a retired Indonesian language teacher who has many years’ teaching experience in secondary schools at all levels, including VCE.
No class on 14 September
