Other information

This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well learners with some prior
knowledge. The content will be based on the textbook, with supplementary
materials provided by the tutor. Activities will be adapted to cater for the
varying levels of experience of the students.

Indonesia is Australia’s largest and nearest neighbour in the Asian region
and has a diverse and fascinating culture. The national language, Bahasa
Indonesia, is written in the same alphabet used for English. It doesn’t make
distinctive use of tones, and the language does not have complex agreement
rules, tenses and plurals. This makes Indonesian a very accessible language
for beginners.

REQUIREMENTS: Students should purchase the textbook “Indonesian
Grammar in Context, Volume 1”, Rafferty, Ellen et al.

TUTOR: Angela is a retired Indonesian language teacher who has many
years’ teaching experience in secondary schools at all levels, including VCE.
