Inexpensive and relatively easy to play, the ukulele is a user-friendly instrument that’s perfect for communal music-making. Students will learn chords and strumming patterns to accompany songs. Some singing is involved, but you don’t need to be a great singer to join this group. This group is open to beginners as well as players with some experience playing uke or other instruments. Students will be emailed a questionnaire regarding any past musical experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Ukulele, tuning app (on phone) or clip-on tuner (tutor can advise during first session), music stand, pencil.
TUTOR: Minuk is an experienced teacher and a keen amateur chamber musician. Having been classically trained on the violin, Minuk more recently discovered the joys of playing ukulele and is keen to encourage community music-making using this delightful instrument.
January 31 – April 5
Then resumes in Terms 3 & 4 (July – December)
