Other information

For those who enjoy wine and would like to discover more while tasting in friendly company. No particular knowledge of wine is necessary. In this six week course we will be covering some major varieties and regions, old world and new world variations in style, wine flights (how wine ages), sparkling wines, fundamentals of tasting and more.

Each week we will taste 6 wines around a wine-related theme, complemented by appropriate cheeses and nibbles. Discussion is encouraged.

A wine-tasting group is an ideal format for learning as participants can do blind (masked) tastings, compare similar wines from different regions and countries, taste everyday and fine wines side by side, hear different perspectives on the same wine, enjoy the company of other wine lovers and so on – all impossible to do by yourself.

REQUIREMENTS: The cost for this 6-session course is $120 for all wines, food, and one set of six tasting glasses. Payment details will be provided by the tutor.

TUTOR: Philip has loved wine-tasting for many years and has led a local wine group for the last 15 years. They have not run out of topics (or opinions) yet!

Note that this course requires an up-front payment – see REQUIREMENTS.

Paper Enrolment Form: before bookings open for First Semester

  • Obtain a paper Enrolment Form either from the Office or by printing an online copy available here.

The start date for acceptance of paper Enrolment Forms for first semester is published on the U3APP website and in the e-Bulletin. Enrolment Forms received before this date are treated as though they had been received on the start date (ie there is no advantage to be gained by submitting early). On the start date and thereafter, paper Enrolment Forms are numbered in order of receipt.  Paper Enrolment forms are processed by U3APP volunteers on the same day as on-line bookings.

If your enrolment is successful, you will receive a confirmation email.  Please check your Junk/Spam folders as these automatically-generated emails often finish up there.
