Other information
This presentation will focus on some of the outback trips that Dorothy has made with her husband and friends over the last 25 years. It will be accompanied by slides of these trips. It will begin with a long trip through Alice Springs and then up the Tanami Track to the Kimberley region, exploring the amazing chasms, gorges and formations such as Purnululu. Then on to the Gibb River Road, an experience in itself, and to Kununurra and the Ord River, then to Kakadu, where the art is very different.
Then another trip across most of the Nullarbor desert, up to Newman and the Karijini National Park, well worth exploring, further on to the Burrup Peninsula, then down through Ningaloo to Shark Bay, Geraldton and Perth. These trips provided many differing sights, lots of bird life and unceasing wind!
REQUIREMENTS: No requirements; class members may take notes if they wish.
TUTOR: Dorothy was a teacher and administrator in the TAFE system for 30 years. She then spent 20 years as a voluntary guide with the NGV and is now a tutor at the Australian Tapestry Workshop in South Melbourne.
