Other information

Current Affairs is about sharing ideas, concepts, opinions in an open forum with the intent of expanding one’s insight and interest on a variety of issues and topics. The topics considered are determined by class members and can range across global and local matters. The areas of interest are open ended and may cover matters of ethics, government, service delivery, health, environment, media, economics, law, legislation, general politics etc. On occasions the class may decide to collect information on a particular topic as a session theme for more detailed discussions.

Current Affairs is a politically neutral setting and the confidentiality of all class members is maintained. An ability to occasionally see the irrelevance of things is also encouraged.

REQUIREMENTS: Commitment to share ideas, information, articles, links to information sources, documents, etc and be open to a variety of opinions and concepts expressed by class members.

TUTOR: Marcel’s background includes involvement with policy development (state and national governments), facilitation of joint development projects across public and private sectors, involvement in design and urban planning projects, participation in local government forums and working parties. He is committed to on-going learning and mental wellbeing through U3A activity. He has been a local resident for more than 35 years.
