Tutor/Facilitator Claude Miller
Date: on/from Fri 8 Mar 2019 to end year
Class time: 9:45-11:15
Not an Italian conversation class per se! However, if you like talking about literature in English and can read Italian reasonably fluently, this class may be for you.
In 2018 we read a couple of Shakespeare’s plays conveniently translated into Italian (much more accessible in Italian but it helps if you are familiar with the English! ). We have begun reading Alessandro Baricco’s Iliad, the story of the Trojan War and the protagonists, interspersing it with Alberto Moravia’s short stories.
In 2019 Shakespeare’s Othello is a possibility if people are interested.
REQUIREMENTS: A willingness to take parts and read aloud, and a working knowledge of written Italian. Plenty of help available.
TUTOR: Claude has a varied linguistic background, and has taught English literature and Latin.
